    Great guide! However, I do want to emphasis that the thick blue pad is simply too thick. I used the two smaller pads layered and stuck to each other, and it still wasn't as thick as the big one. You don't want to bend your nvme ssd card with all of that pressure: Stick to the two smaller ones, the large one is unnecessary and you'll have a bent ssd when you take this thing apart in 4-5 years. For reference, I was using the regular non-pro EVO 970.

    We have an IPSec Tunnel to the client. They want to access our internal server. We provided them the Public IP address. We allowed the security polices (from ZONe VPN to our DMZ on ports xxx allow). We also added the proxies in the IPSec Tunnel and also added the route to their network. Now I am confused that we didnt configured any type of NAT in this case. Could you please explain why is it so? Thanks in advance.

    Nice work, dont forget to promote Zones, and Fortigates are NGFW, so UTMs otherwise expensive routers. Zone your interfaces, don't add multiple interfaces to rules & separate your rules to make log reading easier, dont use all out!

    Great tutorial Keith, but your instructions may not work for all environments. I spent about a week trying to get this scenario working (using latest version of Ubuntu 24.something....) There is a setting in the ansible.cfg file that will require attention for ssh onto Cisco IOS to authenticate successfully - to be specific, ansible will not attempt to use the username in the hosts file without it. The setting in question is: look_for_keys=False The setting can be found at the bottom of the ansible.cfg file if it is generated using the built in command to generate it (ansible-config init > /path/to/ansible.cfg) is used Not sure if this is something related to the latest version of Ubuntu or Python perhaps It appears the default behavior is to use key authentication and not try usernames and passwords without this setting in the config file. I would like to think my comment / findings will help your other viewers avoid hours of troubleshooting. Keep Up The Good Work.

    I have a Samsung 990 pro 4TB NVME M.2 SSD in my PS5. I have a 2TB Samsung 980 pro ssd and 1 or 2 1TB Samsung 980 pro M.2 ssd. However, the 4TB isn't large enough and I'm not looking to spend $1,000 for an 8TB M.2 ssd. I was hoping to build multiple external m.2 slots into a PCIE m.2 adapter and plug it in to the INTERNAL M.2 expansion slot with ADT-LINK Riser PCIe X4 3.0 PCI-E 4X to M.2. I don't know if the PS5 will still recognize the multiple M.2 slots. Any advice would be great.

    How do you connect the other WiFi points to the internet? Do you connect an ethernet cable from your main modem? Or do you chain the the points with ethernet cable?

    • @KeithBarker
      @KeithBarker 13 дней назад

      Thank you for the question @SargsyanTigran. The primary device will be cabled, the other 1 or 2 or 3 are usually connected to the primary one via Wireless. If you have wiring available, another option is to wire the other devices to the same network as the primary, but it isn't required, and isn't typically done.

    • @SargsyanTigran
      @SargsyanTigran 9 дней назад

      @@KeithBarker Thank you for the answer. I am sure if you connect them via wireless the connection quality will suffer a lot. That's why I want to connect them with a cable. I was wondering, since these devices have 2 ethernet ports, is it possible to chain them? E. g. I need 2 WiFi points. I take an ethernet cable from home main internet modem and connect it to the 1st WiFi point, then another cable goes out of the second port on the 1st WiFi point and into the 2nd WiFi point. Would that be possible?

    First things first, This video is AWESOME! Thank you for taking the time to make it. I did however struggle using 1 IP to multiple inside addresses and ports so I figured I would post a little more info below. I would like to add the following information for Destination nat rules from one public IP to multiple dmz ip addresses/ports. In order for that to work right, you must specify the original packet destination service for each NAT. for example, if you are running a web service on one server, you would specify 443, then translate to your web server inside. If you had an email server you would specify 25, then translate that to a different server on the inside. If you are doing a different outside port you can specify that on the Original packet tab, then on the translated packet specify the correct inside port. For example you can run a web server on 18443, but have it translate to 443 on the inside. Thank you again for posting this video.

    Keith, just looking at you makes my day. I remember when I was still unclear about my goals in life and I downloaded CBT nuggets and I don't remember much of what I learned or heard, but what I do remember is your entusiams and the way you teach and your smile. Fast forward 6 years, I got a job in helpdesk where I work for almost a year. Got my colledge bachelor's degree in Maintenance of Computers Systems and now ready for some real work and get deeper understanding of networks and how everything around me works. I always liked computers, I just didn't know what I wanted to do, but now I do. I am going to be a network engineer one day! And this is going to help me get there. I am commited to get my CCNA by the end of June next year. So far, I got halfway through jeremy's IT lab and gained a whole bunch of knowledge already, but there are a LOT of stuff I didn't remember. Stopped right before OSPF. Why did I do that? Because I decided that I'm not going to take all of knowledge from just one source. Jeremy is an amazing guy and an awesome teacher. It's just that I want to learn from multiple resources. I think if you watch same video on same topic from the same guy, vs 2 different guys, you're probably gonna retain more of what you heard if someone explains it to you in 2 different ways. Anyway, I am going to learn 5 days a week for 2 hours every day. That's 10 hours a week of commited learning, about 40 hours a month and by May I will be having around 400 hours put in, which should give me enough room to learn everything. If not, I am not going to rush anything, but simply give myself more time to pass the exam. The idea of setting schedule is not to feel like a loser if I don't make it by then. The idea is to put in hours that are necessary to pass the exam. June 2025 or August 2025, doesn't really matter. What matters is consistency over long period of time. Thanks for everything you do, Keith, you are one hell of a guy.

    Hey Keith, thanks for the wonderful video. A quick question. @43:30, if we assume that everything in this network topology stays the same, except SW3 and SW2 are connected via Fast Ethernet with the cost of 19, SW3 2/3 would still be designated port, we would then put SW2 2/2 interface in a blocking state? Would SW2 3/0 then become Root port, with SW1 0/0 becoming Designated, and SW2 1/3 would become Designated, and SW1 1/2 would become undesignated? Did I guess it correctly? I'm really struggling with this one and I am watching this for the 6th time, but I am eager to get my CCNA and won't give up after a few failed attempts. Thanks a lot, you are an amazing dude!

      Thank you for the question @marko514. Don't have the time right now to go back through that video and perform a what-if. You may want to lab this one up, in packet tracer or emulator, and test your predictions.

    Hi Keith! Great video! How does the security policy come into play with our source NAT security policy? For example, say I have a server in my DMZ or something that I only want to access certain IP's on the internet. I would imagine I would put these security rules before my more general source NAT security rule. Would that interfere with the NAT policy or would it still hit on that? Thanks!

      Thank you for the question, @edwardguzinski9853. The NAT policy will not allow traffic on its own. The security policy also needs to be implemented to allow for the initial traffic flow.
